Mom's Cornbread

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Buttermilk
  • 1/4 cup Canola oil
  • 1 Large egg beaten
  • 1 cup Yellow self-rising cornmeal mix

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees farenheight.
  2. Spray an 8-9" pan or cast-iron skillet with cooking spray.
  3. In a medium sized bowl, beat egg, canola oil, and buttermilk with a whisk.
  4. To the bowl, add the cornmeal mix and whisk until smooth; remove all lumps.
  5. Pour the mixture into your pan and bake for 25-30 minutes or until cornbread is set and lightly browned.
    Cornbread on a plate
